Keyboardist

As a keyboardist, you can have all the power to create
amazing
sounds just at the touch of a finger tip. Harnessing those
abilities through the right equipment can make your value sky rocket in
the music world and a band.
PROS: You can make any sound in the world (through a
synth),
you have the ability to be your own 1-man band without sounding like 1
man, you don't have as many competitors as guitar players and you can
give a band that sort of epicness it needs to push it over the top.
CONS: Not every song needs a synth/piano in it, unless
you
have a huge budget, you'll probably have to deal with overpowering
guitars and loud drums that may drown you out in your practices.
GENRES: Almost any genre could use a synth/piano in it,
however, Indie Rock, Techno, & Jazz may give you more of the
lime
light and give you the full capability to show off your
skills.
RECOMMENDED STARTUP
EQUIPMENT FOR KEYBOARDISTS:
I would definently
check out zZounds, they have an amazing selection (here are some
recommendations for startup equipment for a person with a limited
budget):
Yamaha has always
been a well-respected brand in my mind and if you want to get started
with a professional keyboard without burning a hole in your pocket, I
think this synth is the way to go:
SEXY
AFFORDABLE KEYBOARD
As for amps, this one
has served me well in my practices and giving me the bang &
clarity I needed to stand my ground with guitars, bass, & drums:
RELIABLE
AFFORDABLE AMP
Don't forget you will
need a stand, cables, and a sustain pedal, and of course anything else
you can afford to shoot you towards the top.
