The Future

Your future is in your hands.  As I've implied time and time again, don't just settle for the norm.  If there is something you want to achieve, go for it!  Accept failure... it is going to happen, probably more often than you want.  Failure will essentially lay the foundation for your success.  You will learn from your mistakes, cherish the triumphs you had with the failure, and strategize a new plan that will get you closer towards your goals.

The Music Industry has many outlets, not just bands which I'm sure you are well aware of.  You may have talent, but it might not be quite enough to make you famous, however, that doesn't mean you should fall back into the line with everyone else.  There are numerous people working in the music industry that also play instruments, that have to be behind the scenes.  If you feel like you aren't being spotted, you might want to look into working at a label as an intern.  This could help you get spotted and at least immerse yourself in this musical world.

You may come to a point with your band (this only applies to people that aren't starting off solo), where you may be offered a contract without them included.  Some bands have pacts to stay together forever, and some fall apart at the mention of an offer like this.  Someone in your band, whether it's you or someone else is going to be more appealing and unique then the other band members.  If this is the case, I would keep in mind that this very well could happen if your band doesn't demonstrate an unbreakable unity through your music that would destroy the music if you lost any one of your band members.
